Mathematics for IT Professionals will cover some particularly important concepts used in computer science. Graph theory concepts are used in networks, operating systems, and compilers. Set theory concepts are used in software engineering and in databases. Topics to be covered include Number Systems, Propositional and Predicate logic, Sets: Cartesian product, Power sets, Cardinality of finite sets; Vectors and Matrices; Graphs: Trees, Properties, Traversal strategies, Undirected graphs, Directed graphs;
Functions: Surjections, injections, bijections, Inverse, Composition; Recursions; Relations: Reflexivity, symmetry, transitivity, closures; Differentiation and Integration.
