This course is a prerequisite to Interpreting Practice course. It provides students with a deep understanding of both source and target languages as well as practical translating practice designed and structured to take place at home and in the classroom. Students present and discuss their products in class upon completion of the practical activity. It aims at providing students with an opportunity to develop themselves as practical translators in many fields. The course activities include lectures, practicing translating, discussions, and presentations. Evaluation is done through participation in class activities, assignments, and a project to interview a professional translation for the final project at the end of the semester.
