The course is designed to comprehensively train learners in the skills and knowledge necessary to work with biometric recognition systems, which are sophisticated technologies that utilize the unique physiological or behavioral characteristics of individuals for identification and authentication purposes. Biometric systems have become integral to modern security solutions due to their ability to offer a high level of accuracy and convenience compared to traditional identification methods. The main focus of this course is to familiarize learners with the various biometric modalities and the technology behind them. Biometric systems include a range of physiological identifiers such as fingerprints, facial recognition, iris and retina scans, and palm-prints. These systems also cover behavioral characteristics like voice recognition and gait analysis. Each modality has its unique applications, strengths, and limitations, which will be thoroughly explored throughout the course. The course provides an overview on current security and privacy procedures based on each of this modularity.
