In a broader sense, endocrinology is the science of the humoral integrative system of the body.
Endocrinology is one of the most intensively developing branches of clinical and theoretical medicine. Suffice it to say that every fifth Nobel Prize in medicine was awarded for work in the field of endocrinology.
