Group counseling is a core course in counseling psychology. It prepares the learners to understand and apply the key concepts in different group counselling theories, describe the characteristics of an effective leader, demonstrate group counselling process and apply ethical principles in group counselling. 

Group Counselling as a course it exposes the students to historical perspective of group therapy, group dynamics, group counselling, theories in group counselling, and ethics. It covers approaches to group counselling such as psychoanalytic, cognitive behavioural, Integrative, Person-centred, and gestalt group counselling. It will introduce counselling psychologists to the ethical issues in group therapy or counselling.
