The course discusses the sound exercise of authority (political, economic, and administrative) to manage resources for development. The strategies and approaches to achieving good governance together with the strategies of a socially responsive management will also be covered here.
This course is timely and quite relevant given the problems of good governance for both public and private sectors. This will also enable students to think beyond theories and apply these to realistic scenarios. Since society became increasingly indignant with corporate stories of greed and moral corruption, students should learn the concepts of corporate social responsibility and corporate governance to safeguard the interests of the various stakeholders of the society and to effect change on certain processes and behaviors that can improve governance practices.
